Testimonials

We stayed on the 28th January 2017 in room 5. What a gem! Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff, a well appointed and very comfortable bedroom and first class menu. An Inn with real character and old world charm. We will definitely return in the summer…

My husband and I received a very friendly welcome at the Brigands Inn. It is a lovely pub and the meal we had was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and if we are ever up this way again, we will definitely revisit.

We stayed here for my Wife’s birthday and the staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left were friendly, accommodating and professional. We had a couple of drinks in the bar before going to our room. The bar staff were great and made sure we were happy with our drinks, and immediately made us feel welcome by introducing themselves and generally offering a friendly welcome. The room was well kept and clean, and very comfortable. In the evening we dined in the restaurant, and they gave us a table in the resident’s lounge, which is set away from the main restaurant, which gave it a special, intimate feel especially when they put the real log fire on. The food was excellent, locally sourced and beautifully cooked fare. My Wife had the fillet steak, and I chose the Osso Bucco. Both were excellent with the steak cooked perfectly and my dish wonderfully rich and full-flavoured. The starters were also lovely and perfectly cooked. The breakfast in the morning was spectacular! Lovely quality local food and perfectly cooked! Thanks for a great, relaxing stay!

This is top of the range establishment. So much charm and Character. The hosts were so helpful. Lovely bar and restaurant which meandered over the ground floor. The Breakfast was top quality. Restaurant food was superb. Guests lounge was so nice. We will be back to this one. Thanks Sue & Kevin, you made us so welcome. Perfect base to explore further North into the National Park.

Room Tip: The room with roll top slipper bath and views to the mountains…luxury

Having passed here many times, we decided to meet all as a family for lunch. 10 of us arrived. Cosy olde world feel, open fire, logs crackling away, real cosy feel. Warm welcome. Had a good and varied menu selection, wine list the same. The portions were BIG, plenty of vegetables, different gravy for beef and the lamb, attention to detail was really good. Dessert offered something for everyone. Food presentation was just so. Service was spot on, can only thank them for making a memorable day out for us. Will certainly fill up here again! Highly recommended.

My wife and I with our two sons and daughter in law called in for Sunday lunch on mothers day. We were a party with four dogs!! We were made so welcome with a table in a smaller dining room. The roast lunch was really good and it is great to find somewhere were dogs are welcomed, not just tolerated.
So great for a hearty lunch and very welcoming if you have dogs.

Unique 500 year old Inn set in stunning scenery, one off, simply lovely, staff are welcoming nothing is too much trouble, even if you arrive particularly late. Rooms are comfortable as are the beds, this is genuine old half-timbered Inn so the floors do have the odd endearing slope.
The breakfasts are full traditional fare beautifully cooked.
Evening meals are amazing, a must have is the ‘Lamb Henry’ it is delicious!

Thank to to Kevin, your lovely wife and your son, who all made our stay truly memorable.
Well shall definitely be back!
